“That Cathryn is angry.” is a common response to my comments on Bilerico.  Perhaps I should tell you why I get angry, remind all that passive people rarely changed anything and point out things that, in my own mind, should be self-evident.

The overwhelming majority of the dead on the Trans Remembrance list were killed by men.  They were heterosexual women who were labeled gay men by their murderers and died for that.  I just read an article that stated that murder is likely the leading cause of death among women such as myself.  Think about that….not heart attacks, not cancer, not AIDS…..MURDER.  And not just a bullet to the head murder either.  The murders of transwomen tend to be ones of extreme violence and suffering inflicted.  And the reason for that is not trans-phobia, it’s homophobia.  And it’s not just pre and non ops….it’s women of transsexual history as well.  Every time a gay man uses some “cute” reference that links us with being male somehow, that transwomen and women of trans history aren’t “really” women, (and in the mind of the vast majority that leaves ‘man’) every time some trans-activist openly declares the artificiality of transsexed bodies the result is furtherence of the idea we aren’t really “real”.  And this is life threatening, this is exactly why we are murdered in such disproportional numbers.  Numbers per capita far far greater than gay men are at risk for.

this idea, educated the general public out of it more than a decade ago
only to have it now the “official” position of the GLBT world.  That’s right.  When the idea that women of transsexual history are less than women is stated or promoted, that perpetuates the cycle of homophobic violence against us.  It literally kills us.  Now we have “helpful” gay men blogging about gender issues, speaking for us, “helping us” to death.  And they don’t get it.  They don’t “get it” that we are women. They don’t grasp the simple idea that every single reference linking women of trans history to gay men and every single cutiepie “shemale” or play on words that denies our womanhood such as “Sorority BOYS” directly implicates them in the on going murder spree of us that is escalating each and every year.

Angry?…..I’m literally fighting for the lives of those like myself following me.  It’s become a life and death issue bigger than HRC, ENDA, marriage rights.  Gay men, you are NOT helping us, you are killing us.  And we, in the process, die for YOUR sins, not our own.

Stop it.  Stop “helping us” into the grave. Shut the fuck up.  You are killing heterosexual women with your words and deeds.  Or is that the intent?
