John Boehner, Could It Be Low T?

Every woman in the western world grows up with the sexual double standards but this is getting beyond ridiculous, it’s now downright dangerous.  Boehner is going to be in the immediate line of presidential succession.  If Nancy Pelosi had ever shown 1/100th of the emotion this guy does she would have been removed from office and I think everyone knows this.  Boehner cries as easily as a transgender crossdresser newly on estrogen to grow a set of titties and potentially his finger may be on the nuke button!

I am personally beyond fed up with the deliberate stupid blindness of the tea baggers and the right.  When Bush was president it was screamed to be treason to oppose him in any fashion because he was a “war time president”.  People I knew got Secret Service visits for merely openly joking about him. Excuse me, we are still at war on two fronts.  Obama is a war time president so by the reasoning of the right every Repugican in the Senate and most in the House are out and out traitors.  They openly espouse Fascism such as total censorship of a free press and much else of the actual Constitution not to mention a “police state”.  They all violate their oath of office. They have blocked funding of the entire military of our country as well as opposed legislation that extended GI rights.  The repugican Senators ALL voted against medical aid for 911 first responders! They have openly stated they will sacrifice everyone in the US to oppose the President…..you cannot separate the office from the man.  If it was treasonous to oppose Bush and Chaney, this is beyond treason by their own rules.  By any reasonable standard of behaviour the Repugicans have shown they are anti-American, anti support for the troops and at the very least owe royalties payments on their past shameless use of 911 for political hay while they clearly don’t actually give a damn about those who actually responded.

We ceased to be a nation of laws when the Supremes overthrew the election in Bush v Gore.  Since then our country has been an outlaw nation internationally, one that engages in torture, colonial invasions of sovereign nations absent the internationally recognized provocation.  That is now enshrined as the “Bush Doctrine” which, if applied on a personal level, would give me the right to shoot any Christian fundie as a potential threat to me personally.  Just how do you think that would work out for me in court?

America as a nation of laws and example to the world has ended.  There is one way to restore it and one way only.  Rupert Murdock, the entire Faux News crew and every single republican Senator needs to be immediately arrested.  Bush, Chaney and company need to be arrested and turned over the International Courts.  Impeach every member of the Supreme Court still on the court for treasonous overthrow of the legitimate government of the USA that voted yes on Bush v Gore. Do this and maybe the rest of the world might believe us again.  Fail to do so and we remain a rouge nation armed to the teeth and an eminent danger to the rest of the world.  If it was any country but America, we ourselves would be screaming bloody blue murder.  I am not talking revolution here but rather a restoration of law.

I’m fed up with the double standards.  It is beyond fair to hold others to the ethics they espouse for others so round them up, put them on trial and start the investigations with the question “Are you now or have you ever been a member of the Republican Party?”

And Boehner?  Get him the hell out of the line of Presidential succession quickly, we cannot afford to have someone with zero control of his emotions in that position of power.  Women in American politics are not allowed to show any outright emotion, let us replace these crying game men with real women!   Crone women past menopause, not the nutjob right wing “manpants” , “I’m not a witch”, fish bashing, not staying full term in office, death panel nutjobs and traitors to the sex you find on the right.

 

A Gestalt Shift Part 1, Background

Since the early days of the Bush Administration and in particular after the attacks of 9-11 I and others I communicate privately with about spiritual matters have noticed a number of gestalt shifts or reality realignments.  The America of today bears almost no resemblance to the one I grew up in.  For all it’s faults, and there were plenty, the America of my youth still stood for things, good things and the attitude of the average American, if not our government, was one of basic fairness and individual rights.  Oh we had to fight for those individual rights but always with a sense that eventually we would prevail precisely because of the basic instincts of the average American towards fair play and equal opportunity.

The downfall of Richard Nixon energized us with a sense that even those at the top were accountable for misdeeds which was uniquely American.  The change started with Reagan.  It’s a historical fact that the Iran-countra scandal cost Carter the election.  That the neo-neo-cons, mostly holdovers from the Nixon administration, brokered a complex deal that kept the Iran hostages from being released until after the election.  Reagan, the godfather of modern conservatism, then proceeded to explode the national debt to a level that almost was three times anything done in the past…..and was never called out on it.  Bush the elder then came up with trickle down economics or the rich pissing on the heads of the poor and telling them it was raining.  This has been the hallmark of “conservative” economics ever since in a twisted version of the a reverse of the “American dream” which was rapidly becoming the American nightmare if you were lower middle class or Goddess help you, poor. The military industrial complex that Ike warned about when he left office was now basically in full control.  Every political shift from this point on was hard to the right moving the the centre with it.  Workers were no longer participants in the economy as much as replaceable worker drones, unions busted, actual collective bargaining returned to being “communist” in the public mind.

I’ve long said that Clinton was the last actual republican president.  In terms of what the republicans were back in the sixties this is a completely accurate statement.  He actually balanced the national budget, something long thought to be impossible by most economists.  No matter what you might think about him based on the unending attacks on him from the right during his entire presidency, he was a true fiscal conservative.  The right, however, demanded revenge for Nixon and they are still in this mode.  Damn the country, screw the military, the hell with the poor, they demanded never ending revenge for Nixon’s resignation against any Democrat in office.  And they did this waving the flag and branding anyone that opposed them as traitors to the country.  Fox news came into existence during the Clinton administration.  Every last shred of anything America actually stood for ended with the battle for Florida during the Bush – Gore election.  Fox news declared Bush the winner long before the actual news organizations would make a call and those actual news organizations, unaware that Fox did not play by the rules of journalism, followed and set the stage for the Bush v Gore decision by the Supremes.  At that exact moment America ceased to have a legitimate Constitutional government of law.  Make no mistake, history will eventally record that was an overthrow of the American form of government that ended the American experiment.  Everything that has followed has been the systematic destruction of all that made America American.

 

America, Love It or Leave It — revisited

As a flower child of the sixties (ok, out and out hippy tree hugger) I had the words America, love it or leave it tossed at me more times than I could count.  Most of my generation did.  This was the right wing mantra invoking blind patriotism and lemming like belief that anything our country did was right and proper and if you disagreed, you were a traitor and didn’t deserve to be an American.  The irony, of course, is that probably more than any other generation in American history, mine was brought up by the “Greatest Generation” on pure idealism of what America was supposed to stand for (truth, justice and the American way!) and I maintain to this day the counter culture was a direct result of actually expecting America to live up to that promise in the face of an illegal war (Vietnam) the broken promises of racial equality and the rebirth of the Womans Movement after the betrayal of women’s rights established thirty years prior.

But for all that somethings were still unthinkable until George W.  We didn’t overtly claim the right to pre-emptive war, torture was an unthinkable act (done only in the most secret fashion) and personal information was personal.  The sex lives of politicians was considered off limits to the national discourse, other than in the deep south, the justice system was basically honest if often frustrating, Americans wanted to be fair even if it took honest educating for them to get there.  We wanted to be decent people that tried to live up to the American ideals I was taught as a child and if you didn’t, you were too damned embarrassed to be open about it because the rest of us strove for that basic decency and sense of fair play.

At this stage of my life it’s hard for me not to see the current masterminds behind the extreme right as nothing short of pure, unadulterated evil.  I never believed I live to see torture debated as policy in my country in my lifetime, but it still is in some circles.  As a lifelong Pagan, I understood how flexible freedom of religion could be but never dreamed one of the big three Abrahamic faiths would have their own religious freedom debated in the national discourse, but it is right now.  I never thought I’d see Richard Nixon as one of the best of the Repugnican breed instead of one of the worst.  And after Johnson signed the Civil Rights Act, I never thought I’d see open racism, sexism and out and out bigotry expressed in Amerika without shame ever again.

We sold our infrastructure and national resources to the highest bidder, dismantled the industrial base that saved us several times.  We don’t produce much of anything beyond a trades/craft level anymore but instead sell each other “services”.  After eight years of outright lying, warmonging, betrayal of everything the country was supposed to stand for and finally, after aiding and abetting the wholesale rape pillage and plundering of everything America had by the Bush administration…  After open and unashamed violation of every decent principle of international law and overt, unabashed war crimes along with the dismantling of the Bill of Rights…..there was no justice, no day of reckoning, no restoration of basic civil liberties and personal privacy when the country turned collectively to the Democrats and gave them the House, the Senate and the Presidency all at once.  “Change we could believe in” became more of the same, just less overt.  I now know that short of a revolution, America is finished, stands for nothing, is basically trying it’s damnest to be yet another third world country, which it already is in terms of such important issues as civil liberties and basic rights to health care.  Obama’s “victories” are nothing more than what the Right proposed in the past instead of real change.

And I want to love America so I finally want the Tea Party idiots, the Rush Limburgers, the Fox “News” Networks, the Newt Gingriches and the Dick you Chaneys to be seen as the national traitors they actually are.  They stand absolutely against everything I was taught as a child was good and decent about America…..and they clearly don’t love America so it is time they did what they told my generation to do, leave it, right freakin’ now or be held to the same standards they threatened people like myself with our entire lives.

You speak out and personally attack a wartime President, that is treason by the Constitution.  You break international law in the form of the Geneva Convention, that is a war crime, both carry the death penalty.  You swear an oath to defend and protect the Constitution against all enemies foreign or DOMESTIC and then attempt to pass laws and policies in direct opposition to it, you are immediately removed from public office and held accountable.

And while we are at it, my generation gave us Earth Day and the realities of ecological interdependence so why is it so damn hard to figure out when you have example after example in your face, including the worst ecological disaster in human history that you dismantle the corporate criminals who did it and stop allowing further destruction?  A damn third grader can tell you what is right here.

America has become a land of the lawless, perhaps the only response left is to ignore it’s laws and do what is right to the Right.  What else is left when the President and party of Hope leaves you hopeless?  But the thing that leaves me truly hopeless is that the “progressives” lack the intestinal fortitude to actually act.  How did it come to this?

 

Hey Gibbs, Hell Yes I Wanted Canadian Style Health Care

Obama’s press secretary had a meltdown this week about “progressives” and how they actually expect change they could believe in rather than more of Bush lite.

I wanted Dennis Kucinich, voted for him in the primary even though he “officially” was out of the race and further, I did NOT vote for Obama because I did not trust him.  And I was right.  I voted for Cynthia McKinney.  Hell yes Gibbs, I wanted Canadian style health care, in fact Obama promised it during the campaign.  Further, I expected the post election US to return to the rule of law.  That would have meant putting Bush, Chaney and company behind bars for war crimes which the entire world knows they committed and they have openly confessed to.  I also expected the government to stop spying on private citizens, stop acting like thugs, stop acting outside our own laws and stop torturing people.  I expected an end to the illegal wars and the immediate closing of Gitmo.  I expected Wall Street to pay the price for destroying our ecomomy, I expected Massey Mining corporate officers charged with murder and the same with BP.  I expected all of BP’s assets seized as coming from criminal activities.  I expected actual liberal nominations to the Supreme Court.

I expected an immediate end to Don’t Ask and Don’t Tell and the repel of DOMA.  I expected the Department of Justice to start acting like a department of Justice.  I expected the known issues of electronic voting to be addressed so never again could an election be stolen in this country like in some third world dictatorship.  I expected those who are elected officials who have openly espoused treason to be charged and tried for it.

And I still do expect those things but now have something in common with the Tea party folks, I no longer believe those things can be achieved without a revolution…. because we elected an overwhelming majority in both the House and Senate of Democrats as well as sent the “Messiah” to the White House.

And I am not a “professional” progressive.  I am an old style liberal who has watched in horror as her country became a third world fascist dictatorship during my lifetime.  I have not even attempted to fly anywhere since 911 because doing so means giving up basic civil rights under the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.  I am infuriated at being subjected to searches just to conduct needed business at government offices.

I’m a pissed off progressive and I sincerely doubt I am the only one and I will have to think about ever again having to vote against someone rather than ever having the choice to vote FOR someone I actually feel good about voting for.  I have voted in every single election I was eligible to do so in since coming of age but have reached the conclusion that it is pointless and perhaps letting the Repugicans finish off the country is the only way we will get our revolution.  I am not voting in November for the first time in my life unless the impossible happens and Obama and the the Dems in Congress actually grow a spine.  It’s pretty bad when an old feminist woman has to tell the Democrats “grow a pair”.  It’s especially ironic when it comes from an old woman who had them removed herself.

 

One of Those Turning Points in History

Once in a great while a major shift in global understanding of how the world works and should work occurs.  We are at one of those moments.  Anyone who has seen the documentary “The Corporation” will know what I’m talking about.  The film asked the question “if corporations are actually people, what kind of people are they?” and then goes on to examine this in terms of psychology.  The answer was “a sociopath”.  Multinational corporations pretty much control the world at this point.  They call the shots to governments, almost always get exactly what they demand and have stacked the deck so much that self rule is a poor joke.  Recently our Supreme Court made this official with a ruling that essentially allows corporations to now openly (as opposed to slightly covertly) buy elections.

We had the spectacular banking/housing failure that forced the public to bail out banks that returned the favour by foreclosing every mortgage in sight when the ruined job market wiped out the last of the American dream.   This was followed with yet another coal mine disaster where it was clear human lives were openly devalued and lost for corporate profits.  Now we have BP’s latest in a long long string of “incidents” that cost human lives for profit margins.  Although most have not figured it out yet, they also just dealt a death blow to the US economy,  wiped out the viability of most of the Gulf States as places to live and work already and it will get much much worse in the months to come.

The reason of course is “we owe our shareholders the profit”.   Unstated is that in the past forty or so years of unbridled greed of investors, the entire concept of “shareholders” is a false one.   Back in the day someone would research and then invest in a company.  They would take a direct interest in that company and participate in decision making either directly or by proxy to shareholder meetings.  That day is long long gone now.  Often shareholders are such for only hours or days at most because the same profit at all costs mentality that ruined so many communities with the house flippers and real estate “investors” replaced and often out and out drove out those who actually owned property, lived there often for generations and had a real interest and commitment to the local community. Let me say it straight out…..yuppie greed did this along with the patriarchal business attitude “it’s nothing personal, just business” to somehow justify wholesale destruction of someone’s life, livelihood, and families. Capitalism just imploded people and consumed the world economies with it.

Obama needs to grow a pair right now.  Something can be salvaged from the mess that was the Mother Goddess sending message after message but only bold action will do it.  We must immediately invest every available asset in a renewable energy base.  This will also help the unemployment problem and do so in a fashion that actually makes economic sense just as the WPA programs did in the thirties to build the US infrastructure.  It cannot wait.

We must nationalize all the oil corporations US holdings, all of them………now.  We should have done it to the big investment firms and banks. No more offshore drilling, none, nada, zip. Yeah yeah, socialism and the right will go ballistic.   In case you haven’t noticed, they already have gone that way.  If the South wishes to secede, this time we let them.   I would never advocate just cutting them loose, but they will want to be cut loose politically if we, as a nation, do what needs to be done.  Perhaps Atlanta will be a walled city similar to Berlin during the Cold War as a result. Imagine the Atlanta airlift program to keep them going, thankfully they have the hub for it.

We will be in a major depression by this time next year.   Too much has already been lost forever including more than 1/2 of the seafood consumed by the US, all the southern wetlands and eventually all of the Everglades as well.  This is already gone regardless of what actions we take from now on.  America must immediately renounce the culture of greed and realize we all are each other’s “keepers”.  Can we do it?  I hope so but am not holding my breathe because so few people in the US seem capable of rational thought anymore.

BP changed everything, now we must also change everything else or perish. This may be literally the last moment in history when the world governments can take back control of their own countries from the multinational corporations. If they don’t we all are to be corporate property from this time forward and all our lives held hostage by their worth to those corporations.

Is anybody listening? The Goddess just screamed in your ears.

 

Just How Stupid is the Average American?

The current “debates” about health care legislation boggle the mind.

The facts are pretty damn clear if you have just a couple of firing neurons left in your skull.

The insurance companies bought most of the legislators. They are the ones right now denying needed health care to sick people. They are the one’s effectively “pulling the plug” on chronically ill people and they absolutely are already dictating to your health care provider what services they are allowed to give you. Ask your doctor, he’ll tell you straight out. It’s the insurance company’s call on what care you get, not his or hers. Right now.

Forcing universal enrollment without a “public option” is basically handing the insurance industry a license to steal. They’ll not only continue to call all the medical shots but also be free to raise the level of costs so damn high 1/2 the country will be forced into bankruptcy for any major illness and it will be enforced by law! If this doesn’t scare the hell out of you, you are brain dead.

If you think the insurance and drug companies are fighting hard now, watch what happens if they get “reform” that excludes a separate government run program as an option (the public option they are fighting tooth and nail) and anyone even suggests regulation on policy prices! HMOs have been killing Americans for profit for almost forty years now thanks largely to Nixon and Kissinger. They changed the entire way medicine is practiced in the US and gradually removed all medical decisions from the doctors and transferred it to non-medical bean counters who put pricetags on human life. Who in their right mind would buy that changing this isn’t an improvement? Who in their right mind would claim that this will happen when it long ago happened already?

This is Karl Rove tactics on steroids.

Write your congress-critters, tell them in no uncertain terms that healthcare reform minus a choice to opt out of the corporate insurance dictators is absolutely unacceptable and you will be watching how they vote on this and remember it.

This is literally life and death stuff. No public option means no actual health care for most. Socialized medicine scares you so much you are willing to buy corporate fascist medicine? If so you are an idiot, there simply is no nice way to put this.

Still don’t believe me? Then consider this, coming from someone who worked in nursing for years. The average nursing assistant, those women who do 90% of direct patient care, are paid poverty level wages and have NO, NADA, ZIP health insurance themselves. And you think these Med Inc. companies give a damn about you? Guess again.
